Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluations

Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations are scheduled for 1.5 hours for adults and up to 2 hours for individuals 17 and younger. During the evaluation I will ask thoughtful, in-depth questions to learn about you, your background, and the broader context of your current concerns. Together we build a compassionate therapeutic alliance rooted in trust and collaboration—you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to help you gain insight, clarity, and understanding so I can best support your needs.

What to expect

  • A careful, thorough review of current symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, family history, social and developmental history, substance use, and past treatments.

  • Time to discuss your goals for treatment and what you hope to achieve, so we can set priorities and plan next steps.

  • Respectful, nonjudgmental listening and a thoughtful clinical assessment to guide clear, personalized recommendations.

  • For initial evaluations I do not typically start new prescriptions, though I will refill established medications when appropriate to ensure continuity of care.

  • If you have records, previous evaluations, or a list of current medications, please bring them to the appointment to help inform and enrich the assessment.
